9mm X 19 Ammunition

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems – Canada (GD-OTS – Canada) has manufactured hundreds of millions of small caliber cartridges over its century of existence. The 9mm Cartridge has been manufactured for more than 70 different countries and has become a standard pistol caliber for NATO and other military forces around the world.

Cartridge Specifications

Nato Ball (Parabellum) CDN MK1

The 9 x 19 mm NATO Ball (Parabellum) CDN MK1 cartridge can be fired from either pistols or machine guns. The nominal projectile weight is 115 grains and the cartridge uses a brass case and a boxer primer. A special double-base smokeless propellant is used to minimize muzzle flash and the amount of unburnt powder. Cartridge lot 304IVI79, manufactured by General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems – Canada, remains in use as the NATO reference. Non-toxic primers free of heavy metals are available.

Nominal Muzzle Velocity: 380 m/s.
Accuracy: Extreme Spread at 25 m < 7.6 cm.

Luger Full Metal Jacket (FMJ)

The 9 x 19mm Luger Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) cartridge meets all SAAMI/CIP standards. The nominal projectile weight is 115 grains and the cartridge also has a brass case and a boxer primer. A special double-base smokeless propellant is used to minimize muzzle flash and the amount of unburnt powder. Non-toxic primers free of heavy metals are available.

Nominal Muzzle Velocity: 380 m/s.
Accuracy: Extreme Spread at 25 m < 7.6 cm.

FX® Marking Cartridges

The FX® Marking Cartridges are at the core of the Simunition® FX® Training System known as “the world’s most realistic close-range combat training system”. The patented, reduced-energy, non-lethal cartridges leave a detergent-based, water-soluble color-marking compound. The visible impacts allow accurate assessment of simulated lethality. The 9 mm FX® non marking has the same characteristics as the FX® marking cartridge except for ballistic match at 16 feet (5 m.) versus 25 feet (7.6 m.) . Requiring no special ballistic infrastructure or sophisticated bullet trap devices, this cartridge can be used on reactive, paper or cardboard targets in urban or suburban environments, indoors or out, in improvised facilities or on conventional ranges, without risk of damage to the training facilities. The 9 mm CQT® cartridge produces recoil similar to live ammunition and features tactical accuracy up to 33 feet (10 meters) while the 5.56 CQT® is up to 100 feet (30 m).
